Life isn't all about quantum physics
About Me
I grew up in Neptune Beach, FL and went to Fletcher High School, focusing on physics, computer science, and music. After high school, I moved to the north east and majored in physics education at SUNY Fredonia, on my way to becoming a high school physics teacher. After my first year, I switched majors to physics and mathematics with the hope of one day becoming a professor. I focused on my education, doing research and presenting my work at regional conferences, and was accepted to the University of Rochester's graduate physics program. I quickly joined John Howell's quantum optics group. While in graduate school, I started playing Ultimate, I bought a motorcycle, and I met my future wife Sarah. After graduation I got an offer for a tenure track position in the Penn State system, and we moved to Pennsylvania. We had a pair of twins a few years later, and eventually moved to Boston. I joined the team at Hyperlight and dove deep into high speed electro-optic modulators, before signing on with MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Below, I'll list a few fun things that I spend my time doing and that you should check out for yourself.

Maker SpaceI love making things, from tools to help with sewing and quilting, to deadly battle bots! My family and I use 3D printers, vinyl cutters and electronics to bring our ideas to life. The bots in the photo here are from our local battle bot event in Waltham, MA.

Wood workingI enjoy making cutting boards and furniture, and have recently starting getting into hand tool woodworking. The cutting board here is one I made with some salvaged wood.
